There are a number of legitimate reasons that people think a trip abroad is out of their reach, many of which can be easily overcome.
Most of all I feel my confidence, teamwork, leadership and decision making skills were greatly improved from the project I completed with AV in Uganda.
I think that having a gap year and taking part in a worthwhile activity is invaluable in today’s job climate, it sets you apart from other students and gives you a different more mature view of life.
So if asked would I do it all again; my resolute answer is yes! It is an experience worth every penny, in all senses, one which has helped shape my life, of that I am sure.
