Use your skills
As an AV volunteer on one of the 3-5 month ventures in Africa and Asia you are not only attached to a school but also a member of the local community. The teachers will be a great source of information on local projects you could become involved with and will help you get to know the local people.
Depending on the project, additional work varies from assisting with aids awareness campaigns, medical clinics, orphanages and local woman’s groups to working on the farm land – ploughing with oxen, milking goats or cows and collecting water.
There are lots of different ways in which you will be able to help.
The 5 week summer programs are particularly focused around community work, helping to build classrooms, plaster walls, concrete floors and decorate them. You will work alongside our skilled local craftsmen, helping where needed.
