Art, Drama, Music & Dance

Share your skills with others as passionate as you.

Use your skills

If art, drama or music is your thing then consider sharing your creative talents on a volunteer project overseas.  A chance to learn about music, drama, art and dance in different cultures and languages and be inspired!

AV ventures hold lots of possibilities for incorporating arts and crafts into your lessons or running after school clubs. You could get the class to make posters on the topics you are covering or decorate the classrooms in your school with educational murals covering the alphabet, numbers or even a world map!

They will be keen to teach you their songs but also enjoy learning new songs – from old nursery rhymes such as head, shoulders, knees and toes to modern music; add in a dance routine and you will be occupied for hours! Past AV volunteers have run talent shows in Kenya, taught a play in China and organised dance club in South Africa.

Where can I go?

There’s no shortage of AV schools where can share your art, music, drama or dance skills.

Africa: Kenya, Malawi, Tanzania, South Africa and Uganda.

Asia: China, India, Nepal and Thailand.

What can I teach?

It’s entirely up to you.

Depending on your passions, you can teach songs or dances, make posters, run talent shows, put on a play…

Get creative

With limited equipment, you’ll need to be imaginative. But the lack of equipment is more than made up for by the enthusiasm of the students.
