Reflecting on AV Kenya

( Last Updated: 18-12-2009 )

Dear Nigel,Nigel Warren - Team AV

I was a AV volunteer at Kipsigak High School in Kapsabet back in Sept 2002 with Peter Harris. Life has moved on quite a bit since then (mostly for the better I'm glad to say!), but I'll never forget what an amazing time we had in Kenya. If there is one thing I always tell people to do on their gap years its AV. I'm sure there were a lot of reasons for this... the country itself, the other volunteers, the schools, etc. But now I think that the vast majority of it was probably down to you and the other people that worked with AV at the time. God only knows what you did behind the scenes but it really worked and the whole experience was so rewarding.

Anyways, for what its worth, thanks again. I'm so glad to see your face still on the website and I'm guessing your still involved with things in Kenya and Uganda. I'm getting married in a couple of months and Pete and I will no doubt drink to your good health more than once!?! I'll be sure to visit Kenya again some day and I hope you're still there doing your thing!

Best,

Charlie (AV 2002)
