Monique van de Meent

In-Country Mamas and Papas

Monique is from The Netherlands and worked for 15 years there with the Internal Revenue Service, latterly specialising in customs fraud. She went to a Millennium party in the Moroccan desert, where she met her husband, Wim. They left Holland in 2001 to travel, with their two  dogs, through Africa in their own truck. After seeing almost 20 countries and being on the road for three years, they settled in Jinja, Uganda. They now live on a great spot on ‘The Mighty Nile’  enjoying the company of 5 dogs, 4 cats and 8 chickens.

Monique has been with AV since 2007 and simply loves helping Shirray in looking after our volunteers.
