John lives in Harrogate with Annie and their  three daughters, one of whom (Harriet) is an old AV - Kenya 2005. He is an exiled Plymouth Argyle supporter, still travelling to their away games in the north.

John spent part of his 30-year Police career in Learning and Development - working in South Africa, Uganda and The Gambia - which fuelled his love of travel to many other parts of the world.

Keen on all sports, John has recently learnt to Snowbike - especially handy when the knees give out and skiing is no longer an option. His ambition is to be the next Dr Who.  Sadder still, he is a massive fan of the Eurovision Song Contest and is actually going to Oslo to "be there" in 2010.  Meanwhile, the fantasy continues with AV.  Mmmm...!
