Orientation course at the Wayside Inn, on the banks of the River Teesta. A chance to get to know your AV group whilst learning basic Nepali and attending briefings on teaching, keeping safe, staying healthy and Lepcha culture.

Project Work (Approx 10-12 weeks)

Living and working in rural villages. Together with a fellow AV you will live alongside a local family but have a high level of independence.

Quote Get fully involved in community life, helping around the house, on the farm and working with the children in the schools.  Spending significant time in one place lets you become fully involved and gain a sense of achievement.

Optional Independent Travel (4 weeks)

Following the end of your project you have the option to stay on and explore India further using the confidence and local knowledge gained on your project to make the most of your travels. Trek up into the Himalayas; visit famous temples, bustling towns and colourful markets; experience the Indian Railway network travelling from place to place and relax on beaches. You choose what you do, but we are still on hand to help.
