Helena was born and brought up in Hong Kong and always longed to live in East Africa. After many years of travelling, acquiring a teaching degree, a TEFL diploma and a variety of other random qualifications, she finally landed in Tanzania to teach in an International School. Within a few weeks she had met her husband-to-be, Steve, and they now live in Arusha with their 2 young sons , Oli and Toby. They are a very social family and get a huge buzz in welcoming all the AVs coming to Tanzania to share in parts of their life.
