Kenya - Africa - Africa and Asia Venture
Kenya is after all ‘Lion King' country and is undoubtedly one of Africa's most scenic. From forested highlands to rolling savannah grasslands, to palm-fringed beaches and world famous national reserves and parks.
Combine all these with the smiles, the glamour and cultural variety of its people, and your gap year experience is made up of warmth, colour, huge vistas, sunsets, dust and adventure.
The only way to immerse yourself in Africa is to live it, and there's no better way than a gap year teaching with AV. You will be based in rural schools and community projects, teaching anything from academic subjects, music, drama, arts and crafts, coaching sport or even helping to renovate dilapidated classrooms and working on environmental programmes...
Gap Year Teaching
Whatever your sport - football, rugby, basketball, netball, hockey or cricket - we will place you in a school that plays and enjoys them. This is where AVs can really make a difference and leave their mark. Gap Year Coaching

This scheme combines 2 projects, each of 6 weeks - one in Uganda and one in Kenya. In Uganda, you'll spend 6 weeks working with local communities renovating schools and clinics, helping to restore indigenous trees and preparing a chimpanzee sanctuary. Then you'll travel to a 48,000-acre conservancy on the shores of Western Kenya. Spend a further 6 weeks to monitor game, renovate buildings and try your hand at some African ranch work. Check out Gap Year Conservation
Whichever gap year venture you choose, you'll get the chance to experience a 6-day African safari into 2 of Kenya's famous wildlife reserves. Just to send you home with some ‘Big Five' memories of those savannah grasslands and enormous skies. You'll enjoy bush camping under the stars, the night sounds of Africa and Tusker beer sundowners whilst reminiscing about the day.

Then a 5-Week mini gap Adventure on the Kenya Coast is just for you! This is for undergraduates and graduates not able to take a full gap year, but want a summer experience second-to-none. Our AV Adventures combine 3 weeks of helping to renovate community schools on Kenya's beautiful coastline, with weekends snorkelling or scuba diving its marine parks and chilling on its pristine beaches. Two weeks of safaris follow and include: wildlife parks, river rafting, climbing Mt Kenya and other action packed activities Short Gap Year
