Weather

The Chengdu basin is known for suffering fewer extremes of climate than the rest of China. The bowl stays warmer than the layer of cold air above it, which sometimes result in periods of mist and reduced visibility, but otherwise the climate is benign. Emei is on the edge of the bowl and gets its head above the mist more often. You will need shirtsleeves for much of the year and a few warmer clothes in the winter.

Health and Hygiene

This is a rather healthy part of the world - not considered malarial and not overburdened with the requirement for vaccinations. You will be well briefed on all matters concerning your health and hygiene on the orientation course.

Medical

There are good hospitals in Emei and Chengdu. If required, further evacuation is possible to Hong Kong.
