The project phase of your Mexican adventure is in the special tropical biosphere reserve of Tuxtlas, some 140km southeast of Veracruz - a beautiful area with jungle, forests, hills, mangrove swamps and lakes. Here, several poor farming communities have to balance an awareness of nature with the need to secure the future of their communities by promoting sustainable development and eco-education.
You will play an important role in helping with this. You will live in a rural community (Las Margaritas, Lopez Mateos or Migual Hidalgo) that will really enjoy you living and working with them for 3 working weeks. They will welcome you sharing their way of life.

During your time at Tuxtlas you will visit the stunning lakeside town of Catemaco and enjoy a 3-day all-inclusive trip to raft and explore the Rio Pescados, Mexico's top rafting river, before setting off on your Mexican mix of culture, chillies and the Caribbean coast.
