Dedza Talent Trophy - Africa and Asia Venture

George Cooke is currently volunteering in Malawi at Katsekaminga Secondary School, and along with some fellow AV volunteers, have found time to organise a football tournament - The Dedza Talent Trophy! This fantastic event will take place at Dedza Stadium on Sunday 18 April.

Four of the best secondary school teams will be taking part, and three matches will take place on the day. The volunteers have organised engraved ebony medals for players and a trophy for the winners. A huge banner has also been ordered!

With posters all over Dedza and loud speakers on the day, it should tempt lots of local people to the stadium - entry is free! It sounds like the AV Volunteers have been very busy and we are sure it will be a real success!

George and the others hope the tournament will be an annual event - hopefully on a bigger scale next time! From all of us at AV, we wish the volunteers and the footballers all the best, and look forward to hearing the results next week!
