Volunteering in China with AV provides a fantastic opportunity to experience and understand the real China, whilst at the same time changing the lives of underprivileged children.

Our gap year projects and volunteering opportunities in China begin in Hangzhou, regarded as China’s most beautiful city and located just 40 minutes from Shanghai by bullet train. After the orientation weekend, there is a one-month intensive Mandarin course. This will set you up nicely for the volunteering leg of the program, based in a school for very bright, but underprivileged children in the stunning Thousand Island Lake District, three hours from Hangzhou.
