About Ecuador
Don't let its size fool you; Ecuador has so much to offer. In the east lie vast stretches of rainforest jungle - part of the Amazon Basin and home to so many of Ecuador's indigenous people.
In the central highlands are the mighty Andes, where half the country's population live. Here is fantastic hiking amongst some very challenging volcanic peaks as well as some soothing thermal pools in which to recover. The Pacific coastal region offers everything you would expect, too - sun, sand, relaxation and fun! Did we mention the Ecuador's most famous natural attraction - the Galapagos Islands?
Volunteering in Ecuador with AV gives you the chance to experience life in the cloud forest!
The Ecuador Venture
Our gap year projects and volunteering opportunities in Ecuador give you the chance to spend ten weeks improving your Spanish, becoming part of the community at Santa Lucia and exploring Ecuador. Working in partnership with Rainforest Concern, your time will be spent supporting the efforts to conserve the cloud forest in a truly breathtaking country!
