Lions’ Tour 10–Day Itinerary

Fri 26 June

ARRIVAL

Please ensure that you book and pay for your return flight to Oliver Tambo International Airport, Johannesburg.  Our South Africa representative will meet you there and travel with you to your bush lodge accommodation in Dinokeng Game Reserve, about an hour's drive from the airport.  Here you will settle in and get to know one another whilst enjoying an evening game drive and returning to watch the 2nd Test previews on the big screen.

Sat 27 June

THE (PRETORIA) 2ND TEST MATCH

After an early-morning game drive, you will transfer to B&B accommodation, where you will spend the next 2 nights.  This day will be spent sightseeing and getting to a suitable bar/hotel to watch the game, taking place at the famous Loftus Versveld ground.  We will ensure you arrive in plenty of time to soak up the atmosphere and enjoy the banter with other supporters - Brits and Bokkies!  It's possible we might even be able to get our hands on some tickets for the game by then.  If you want them, we'll try!  The evening will be a celebration of rugby, hopefully as victors, and we will ensure you get back to your beds safely for the  the next morning's adventure.

Sun 28

CANOPY TOUR - MAGALIESBURG MOUNTAIN RANGE

After breakfast, you and your friends will have a day's excursion to the Mageliesburg Mountain Range, where you will be taken on a spectacular 'Canopy Tour'. You will spend an exhilarating few hours swinging along slide cables across the spectacular Ysterhout Kloof in one of South Africa's oldest mountain ranges. Afterwards, you can enjoy lunch at the Sparkling Waters Hotel. Finally, you will return to Pretoria for the night.

 Mon 29 -

Sat 3 July

SPORTS TRAINING & COACHING

After breakfast, you will transfer by coach to a youth hostel in Johannesburg, where you will settle into your new surroundings.  We will take you to Soweto for a brief on the soccer coaching programme that you will be involved with for the rest of the week.  Your mornings will be spent on the receiving end of some coaching training, to prepare you for the coaching you will do in the afternoons.  The coaching takes place in communities where so much of South Africa's future sports talent is being discovered and given the chance to realise its potential - that's where you can help!  We will ferry you to the programme on a daily basis throughout the week.  We will also provide some evening activities for you to join in with.

Sat 4 July

THE (JOHANNESBURG) 3RD AND FINAL TEST

This day will given over wholly to the 3rd and final Test Match, being played at Ellis Park.  We will find a suitable venue to watch the game on the big screen and ensure you are able to embrace the excitment and anticipation that will be everywhere you go.  Hopefully - if we haven't made it 2-nill already - this will be the decider!  There is nowhere on Earth where rugby is taken quite so seriously as in South Africa, so the mood will certainly be 'electric'.  Win or lose, rugby will be the real winner and that's enough of an excuse to celebrate into the night with Brits and Bokkies!

Sun 5 July
